Mary is definitely a one stop shop. I called her afterwards with tears in my eyes, saying she was an just an Angel. My family and friends spoke of the wedding as the best one they had been to, I owe a lot of it to Mary.
I just gave her my vision and she ran with it without ever trying to hurt the budget even when it took away from her fees, she looked after that as if it was all coming from her own pocket. Anything I even gave the slightest complaint about she went after to haggle a better deal.
The flowers were beautiful, the decor was elegant, and the flow of the event was unbeatable. She knows how to plan a ceremony that will have the crowd in tears (she was also my officiate), the reception that had the crowd on their toes all while watching out for you and your family.

Mary Bowerman from Elements of Style is hands down the best wedding coordinator ever! If I could give her 100 stars, I would. Hiring Mary to be in charge of our June 5, 2016 wedding on the Point Loma Naval Base was absolutely the best decision I made. Mary was always available to answer my questions day and night, via phone, text, and email. She even met me at a crafts store to help pick out table accessories. She had great ideas to make my wedding beautiful.
Mary was also our florist, and her flowers were stunning! My bridal bouquet and bridesmaids' bouquets were exactly what I had hoped for. Mary decorated the ceremony site and each table beautifully with LED lights, candles, and flowers. Mary helped vet the vendors for my wedding on the Navy Base, and she made sure all my vendors were kept in the loop and that my wedding night progressed according to our timeline.
Mary took care of every single detail before, during, and after my wedding. (i.e. during my reception one guest table needed another chair, so Mary had the waiter get a chair and set another place setting for my guest at the table.) Mary took care of the table place cards, the sign-in book, the gift table - everything! And this to me is amazing - Mary's help did not stop on my wedding night. There was one issue a few days after my wedding that needed to be addressed, and even though it had absolutely nothing to do with Mary, she still stepped in to fix the problem.
There are not enough adjectives in the world to describe how wonderful Mary is. During the last few months of helping me plan the perfect wedding, she became more than a wedding coordinator - she became a treasured friend.

Mary and her team will make your wedding day absolutely SPECTACULAR! The fact that she's "3-in-1" (coordinator, officiant, AND florist!) made planning our wedding so much easier. We opted for the 'week of' coordination package and, hands down, it's the BEST money we spent. Mary attended the meeting with our banquet planner and her expertise got us through what would have been a very confusing meeting. When the location told me 10 days before our wedding that the planner I had been working with for months left the company, Mary told me, "Don't you even worry about that – I know his BOSS." She answered our questions and met with us a couple times prior to the 'week of' of wedding. Mary and her team got the reception room set up (it was BEAUTIFUL!), they kept the timeline moving, moved the gifts and cards to our room and assisted with breaking down and cleaning up – NOT things the Bride and her mother/sisters/aunts should be doing. Do yourself a favor – hire Mary!!
Mary was our wonderful Day-of-Coordinator and officiant. We found Mary because she was a preferred vendor at our venue (Paradise Point) and also worked really well with our photographer and she did a great job with really knowing our venue well and working well with our other vendors. We were really excited about everything she offered for the coordination but then when she offered to officiate for us for a package rate and she sent us samples of her ceremonies we were so moved, we knew she was a perfect fit. So first about her coordination: My husband and I are scientists so we care a LOT about details, Mary is just like us and extremely detail oriented. I was so nervous that the details I took two years to plan would get forgotten or overlooked and Mary was able to follow every little thing we wanted done and made our wedding just flawless! We wouldn't have been able to have the wedding we had without her. She kept the timeline going perfectly and was always making sure we were well taken care of. She was easy to contact and even if she was busy, she always acknowledged our emails and let us know when she'd respond. She was very professional and also warm and helpful. She also saved the day with safety pins for my broken bustle. She did great with our rehearsal the day before as well, on our wedding day everything went so smoothly. Now officiating: Our guests absolutely LOVED how personal our ceremony was and it moved them to tears. She had such beautiful words that weren't just cookie cutter. She personalized it exactly to us (and even learned some Hawaiian phrases and traditions for us since we live in Hawaii). It felt like we had a good friend up there with us who was also really great at officiating. She even shed some tears which proves that she really does care about her couples. She also took care of our marriage license very quickly which we appreciated. We are so happy looking at our ceremony pictures and having her with us!
I hired Mary primarily for the Week of Coordination, and also ended up using her for our centerpieces/decor/flowers. I was under a very strict budget so originally I tried to do everything on my own, but eventually I decided to 'give in' and met with Mary to consider her services. After meeting with her, it wasn't even a question of whether we would hire her, the only question was where to sign!
While technically she was hired for the Week Of, from the minute we signed with her, Mary was always available to discuss any questions or concerns I had, and she even called me late one evening after I had sent a panicked text because I was feeling overwhelmed. I suppose I should add Therapy to her list of services provided! Her support was invaluable but even more importantly, she's an experienced vendor in the Bridal industry, which means she has a lot of practical knowledge and contacts and can help you plan as little or as much of the wedding as you want. Her company offers a LOT of services so if you prefer, you can eliminate the need to deal with multiple vendors by just going with Elements of Style for almost everything!
She was also very understanding that we were under a strict budget, and she provided several iterations of proposals until I was happy with the decor and flowers while still comfortable with the budget. AND she never made me feel cheap!
We got married on a military base and if you're getting married on a base in San Diego, you MUST hire Mary to help coordinate. The base does not offer all of the necessary services [not that I expected them to - after all, their reason for existence is NOT to make me happy.... ] so it's even more critical to have someone that knows the procedures and requirements and how to keep things running smoothly with the extra details in adhering to base policies.
In conclusion, I HIGHLY recommend Mary & Elements of Style! You won't regret it and you'll be so so glad that you did!
Mary is by far the absolute best! She not only did my wedding planning, but also did our flowers and decorations too. Everything came out perfect, just like she said it would! From the first time that we met Mary, I knew she was going to pull out all of the stops to make our wedding day perfect. Which it was! She took all of my visions for decorations, flowers, timeline, etc. and made it all happen without any flaws. I cannot thank her enough for everything that she did to make my wedding better than what I had dreamed for. We are absolutely recommending Mary to anyone and everyone that is getting married!!
